Focus on Him First
“My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42
The “one thing” Jesus calls us to pursue is an intimate relationship with him. When we focus on him first, everything else will fall into place.
He knows what it’s like
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
Jesus offers respite from the many anxieties and cares of daily life. Because he was fully human, he knows what it’s like to face challenges and expectations. By praying to Jesus and trusting him to help us, we can find peace for our worried hearts and minds.
Two people are better off than one
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
The support of friends, especially other Christians, is a God-given gift. Through our fellowship and relationships with believers, we share life’s joys and struggles. We also encourage one another in the Christian walk, reminding our friends that Jesus is our best friend and Savior.
